The Amber Flag Committee are aware that not all children like to play in the same way as others. We want to support quality yard time; having more options for play, be it playing in smaller groups, or in larger groups of mixed ages - helping them discover other children with common interests and support budding friendships.

We have installed a sand box for the Junior and Senior Infants yard, which is filled with lots of relevant tools n' toys, to fuel their imaginations as well as tubs of chalk, skipping ropes, elastics, an area for mining and discovery as well as a range of other outdoor toys and games for all the children to access. A generous parent donation supplied outdoor storage for all of these additions. We also posted a willing Amber Flag committee member at 12.30pm yard time at least twice a week for the first few weeks to help support and encourage play.
